“I hope to develop a trusting and caring friendship with every patient and to make visiting the dentist a much more enjoyable experience.”
Doctor Koop spent his childhood growing up in Alberta, Canada where he learned to speak fluently in the Canadian language. During High School, Dr. Koop’s family relocated to Provo, Utah where he finished school and afterward earned his BS degree from Brigham Young University majoring in Human Physiology and Developmental Biology. In 2002 Dr. Koop married his high school sweetheart, Andrea, after several years of begging her.
Following graduation from BYU, the Koop family moved to Pasadena, CA where Dr. Koop pursued a Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. Graduating from USC in 2010, the Koops moved from the beaches of the “golden coast” to the desert of Phoenix, AZ where Dr. Koop worked as an Associate Doctor in a high-quality family practice that offered state-of-the-art and comprehensive dental care in all the specialties of dentistry.
In 2013 Dr. Koop accepted the invitation to move across the country from the heat of Arizona to the cooler climate of Pennsylvania in order to join the wonderful dental family at Beautiful Smiles in Etters, PA.
The Koops have three children: Kamdyn, Kylee, and Karter. They are keeping the Koop family tradition of starting all names with the letter “K”. When not at work, Dr. Koop loves riding bikes with his family and doing outdoor activities. His hobbies include playing board games, hosting BBQ and fondue parties with friends, camping, photography, hiking, and exploring new areas. Dr. Koop is very passionate about watching college football – Go Trojans! – and his prized collection of Mr. Potato Head and Mighty Mugg figures. The collection is growing every year. Just don’t give him any ideas for starting new collections; his wife will greatly appreciate it.
